  @ Slim: maybe the cult is hoping for a sudden windfall - countless legacies being grabbed in 2020 thanks to the coronavirus prematurely ending the lives of many older JW's who've named the cult in their wills.

  The Muslim Council of Britain and UK Jewish organisations want the UK government to enshrine into law their perceptions of what kind of speech constitutes Islamophobia or anti-semitism/hate crime.

  Should British Christians follow suit? In the movies & on TV we constantly hear actors shout out, "Jesus Christ."

  Would any Hollywood or TV director ever dare to have an actor say, "Bloody Mohammed?" (PBUH)

  i put this under 'entertainment' because i never fail to be entertained (every single time!

  ) by the sales staff's expressions when i politely refuse their request for my postcode!.

  i simply say to them, "that's ok, it's just a cash sale.

  I simply say to them, "That's OK, it's just a cash sale." Even after stating this, some have persisted and said that it's "only in case you need to claim a refund" or it's "just for the invoice." A refund or invoice for a bottle of wood glue or a box of screws???

  I'm never asked for my postcode whenever I buy a Snickers bar in the supermarket! GDPR, folks.

  do you think any higher ups know that much of the doctrine they teach is bunk?

  thinking back to the time of raymond franz, how he pointed out specifically numerous teachings that the churches really did have right all along, and really any of the hidden mic apostacy trials you listen to on youtube, you see that even when inconvenient bible teachings are proven, the elders just try to sweep it under the rug and move on.

  i think i remember franz saying how one of the gb approached him somewhat sympathetically, but there was nothing he could do.. whether you believe in the bible or not, there are some basic beliefs common among most denominations because they're just so plainly stated, such things as heavenly life for all christians, no central authority structure, minimal use of god's name, etc.

  I had two Circuit Overseers point-blank refuse to discuss the org's dogma which says Romans 6:7 refers to a person's physical death and not figurative - as verses 2,4,6,8,10,11 clearly prove.

  In hindsight, I concluded that these two men couldn't risk agreeing with a publisher and being 'outed.'

  the book of hebrews declare that jesus is god in this verse.

  Acer, if God & Jesus are one and the same, (no H.S. mentioned!) then the following two scriptures need some explaining:

  (Galatians 3:20) Now there is no mediator when just one person is involved, but God is only one.

  (1 Timothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus,

  It would appear that two separate parties are involved with men here.

  The original Greek says certain ones will be reigning, (βασιλεύουσιν) it does not say they will be kings.
  

  Also, the original Greek clearly says that they will be upon the earth - not above or over it.

  Scripture proves scripture: The messianic prophecy at Psalm 45:16 says, "You will appoint them as princes (not kings) in all the earth."

  Princes (rulers, chieftains, heads, officials under king) on the earth - not kings in heaven! Example: Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego were all rulers - not kings.

  As for the cult's alleged 144,000 king-priests, Paul must have been exaggerating Christ's parallel to Melchizedek - if 144,000 window-cleaners etc. are also going to become king-priest Melchizedek clones:

  (Hebrews 5:5, 6) "So, too, the Christ did not glorify himself by becoming a high priest, but was glorified by the One who said to him: “You (not 144,000 others) are a priest forever in the manner of Melchizedek.”

  (Hebrews 7:11) "...what further need would there be for another priest (not 144,000) to arise who is said to be in the manner of Melchizedek." (not 'are' like Melchizedek)

  (Hebrews 7:15) "And this becomes even clearer when another priest (not 144,000) arises who is like Melchizedek," (not 'are' like Melchizedek)

  When we were active JW's, we never questioned our spectator status. We just obeyed what the self-proclaimed 'slave' told us we had to do - "respectfully observe." Those two words appear in the same Bible verse as "immortal soul" & "holy trinity."

  Hey Cofty, I was being hassled a few years ago by these Indian scumbags, so I finally decided to string them along for as long as possible - to waste their time! I kept asking them to repeat their instructions (to get remote access to my PC) and then finally told them that I couldn't continue any more with his requests.

  When he asked me "Why not?", I told him that the men in white coats had come and taken away my laptop! I then laughed when he used some expletives to describe me.

  Downside: these pond-life started 'phoning me during the night, so I had to disconnect every evening for some time.
